TRUTH

A few weeks ago, Jamie Mitchell, a pastor, gave the openning prayer at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives meeting. I read this prayer and thought wow, this pastor hit it right on the head. The courage he had to do say this prayer, it's awesome. I wish I had that much courage! Read the following prayer and see the truth in these words.

Our gracious Heavenly Father, we come before You today because we have nowhere else to go. For You are the true and living God. You are the Maker of Heaven and Earth. You are the sustainer of man and all that we are or ever will be. You are the only real HOPE for our nation and our commonwealth. We come before You in this grand hall, before the important and the powerful, in complete humility and brokenness because Your holiness consumes our failings, reveals our iniquities and lays bare all of our unrighteousness.
We come to ask Your forgiveness and seek Your help and guidance. We know Your Word says, “Woe to those who call evil good,” but that’s exactly what we’ve done. We have ignored Your spiritual compass and have tried to guide our paths with our own values, desires and indulgences.
* We confess that we have mocked the absolute truth of Your Word and called it relativism.
* We have worshiped other gods, failing to acknowledge You alone and called it multi-culturalism.
* We have exploited the poor and naïve; and called it the lottery.
* We have made excuses for the law breaker and called it tolerance.
* We have demeaned the law keepers and called it politically correct.
* We have neglected our neighbor and called it self-preservation.
* We have rewarded laziness, irresponsibility and called it welfare.
* We have killed our unborn and called it a choice.
* We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
* We have neglected to discipline our children and called it releasing their creativity.
* We have abused power, been party to back room dealing and even hoped for our colleagues down fall and called it political savvy.
* We have squandered our resources and paid back favors with taxpayer’s funds and called it a stimulus.
* We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
Search us O God and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Guide and bless these men and women, who have been sent here by the people of Pennsylvania, and who Your Holy Word calls, ordained ministers of peace, to govern this great commonwealth.
Grant them your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us to the center of your will. May they choose today to be servants of You, Almighty God, and then prosper their steps for their obedience. May we live in reverent fear of your greatness in comparison to our insignificance.
I ask it, in the name of your son, our living savior and Master, Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Trying new things

For those who know me, they would tell you that I am a picky eater. And I would not argue with that. But this past weekend I tried some new foods and I was pretty proud of myself. Bryan's family kinda teases me b/c I don't eat like them county folks. But on Saturday with our meal, we had fried squash and fried okra. They were laughing b/c I didn't even know what okra looked like. But I tried both and it wasn't bad. I was just proud of myself for even trying it!!!!!!

Fire Ants......

I hate living in Florida for two reasons! The horrible heat is a killer but what's even worse than that, fire ants. Saturday we took the girls to a water party at Berrydale Baptist Church. While watching the kido's slide in the water, I felt a horrible sting on my foot. I just kinda brushed it off until my other foot started to feel like it was on fire as well. I looked down and to my surprise, little tiny ants were biting me! OUCH!!!!!! I started to panic just a little. After I got the ants off, I went and stuck my feet into the baby pool. That put out the fire for awhile. Now whats even worse, I have these red, ichy, firy bumps on both of my feet. I feel like my feet have a fever. Bryan actually informed me that when they bite you, they inject poison. I can't stop scratching!!!! WAHHHHH. Can you hear me whining?!! Beware of the ants!!!!!!

Saying Goodbye

This past Tuesday night was somewhat bitter-sweet.  At Seven:22, we had Scotty and Karen's Farewell Service. In just two weeks they will leave to Detroit, MI. Scotty and Karen have been called to start a church and will be moving away, :( It so awesome to see to them being obedient to God's calling, it's just that we will miss them! Since Scotty is our Seven:22 pastor, so we decided to go big, for their going away  gift. Scotty and Karen were in need of a new vehicle, preferable an SUV. So we started collecting money and praying. Well, God is a big God and answered our prayers! We got this awesome SUV for an amazing price. Scotty and Karen were totally surprised, they had no idea. We really are going to miss them!!!

Shoe Dilema

Who would have thought finding shoes would be so tough. Well, try wearing a size 11, and you will know my pain. Bryan and I have been looking for a pair of white, dressy, trendy, cute shoes.  This weekend his brother is getting married and I wanted some "HOT" shoes for my dress. Everywhere I looked, I couldn't find what I was looking for or they didn't have my size. Well Bryan was like I will find you a pair. You see, he loves to shop, so I let him take over. I had found a pair at the mall in the store "Aldo" but no 11. They told me we could order it online. When we tried to order them online at home, it wouldn't work. So we headed back to the store, so that they could order it for us. Well, as the guy typed it in, he said, "Sorry, there are none that size." I was like what about this shoe, and I picked another one. I felt like just throwing them at him. Every shoe I handed to him, yes you guessed it right. NONE FOR ME!!! So, just last night we ordered a pair from Bakers online. We shall see. If they are cute, you will see pictures!!! I hope they work out!!!

BFF

I was so excited when Jenny told me she was coming to visit me. We had always talked about it but it had never happened. I have been in Florida for 3 years and just thought, "Okay, she's never coming to visit ." Well, she made it happen, and arrived here on Friday! Of course, when she got here, we layed in the pool for a few hours and soaked up the sun. For dinner I took her to my favorite place, "Jerry's". It's the best little hole in the wall. The special sauce is SOOOOO good. I dip everything in it. Then we drove out to the beach and took pics and walked around. Saturday we spend 4 hours at the beach. You see, I have a wedding this coming weekend, so I needed to work on my tan. We flipped every 30 min, and took breaks in between, in the nice cold water. It was hot, so the water felt great. Well, let me tell ya, if you plan on being at the beach for a few hours, use suncreen! The back of  my everything, is burnt! Bryan has told me no more sun!! I just hope I'm not a peeling mess for the wedding! That night we just took it easy. The beach is SO tiring!!! It was great having her visit for a short while!!! Here are some pics!

Well it's officially summer time for me! I have started my house sitting job and it's been nice b/c they have a in ground pool.  I have really enjoyed that part! I am really excited b/c this weekend, my friend Jenny from Indiana is coming to visit. She has never visited me, so I can't wait! It will be a short but fun weekend!!! Other than that, nothing much else is going on!!!
