Super Bowl Commercials

What happen to the days when promoting families on tv was okay? Somewhere during the time I was growing up, I guess the idea of "familes" went out the window. Tim Tebo and his mother, and focus on the family are being attack for a superbowl commercial!! WHY?? B/c the idea of family and saving lives step on peoples toes! Now, it's pefectly fine to have commercials about beer, and sex but take a 30 sec commercial promoting family and life and everyone goes crazy. When did that become such a BAD thing. My heart is broken over the things that please this world. Things that are true and virtous and wholesome have become evil to the world. The world just wants to feel good all the time. Don't you dare put something on tv that would for a sec make me feel uncomfortable. I am proud that focus on the family is taking a stand!! It's time we christians take our stand as well!!!!!!!! Draw that line in the sand and step over it and sit down!.......

While I am no fan of James Dobson or of Focus on the Family, I agree that they should be allowed to air their commercial. If they can afford the time slot and the network approves the script, then they certainly have the right to free speech!

I can understand people not wanting to "politicize" the Super Bowl, but everything these days is politicized, so to them, I would say, "get over it" :)

Whenever politics and/or religion is involved, there is going to be opposition. I would imagine that if the National Organization of Women bought a time slot during the Super Bowl for a pro-choice commercial, Focus on the Family would be amongst those most vehemently against it. So, it's no wonder that some are raising complaints.

It's what we Americans do. That's the beauty of free speech. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion.

Anyway, thanks for posting this! I find stuff like this so interesting. And love reading about everyone's various opinions. :)
